Jimmy Brazell Community Impact Scholarship Award

TeenPact and the Jimmy Brazell Foundation are pleased to present the Seventh Annual Jimmy Brazell Community Impact Scholarship Award. This essay contest recognizes students who are actively serving and loving their communities with the hopes of inspiring other students to also get involved.

Since the essay contest was introduced, we have received over 150 essays from TeenPact students around the nation, impacting their communities and the world for Christ.

All entrants will be notified of the outcome by Tuesday, May 15th.

ESSAY TOPIC: “How have you impacted the world or your community through servant-minded, Christ-like love?” We all are encouraged and challenged to make an impact. Please tell about a specific time when you had the opportunity to minister God’s love to needy, hurting or lost people in your community and how it affected you.

ESSAY LENGTH: 500-1000 words

RULES: Submissions may be emailed to Peter Martin at peter.martin@teenpact.com. Submissions must be received by Monday, May 7, 2018 to be eligible.

AWARDS: Scholarships will be awarded to the top three essays. Each winner will receive a full tuition scholarship to be used towards a 2018 Alumni Event of their choice.

WINNERS: Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and notified prior to receiving their award on stage at National Convention.

This award is given in memory of one of our finest young leaders who died in a tragic accident on July 31, 2011. Chandler “Jimmy” Brazell was an excellent TeenPact staffer, a gifted worship leader, a passionate missionary and a beloved friend who spent his life telling others about the love of God. Jimmy had one life message: love. He truly understood what it meant to live with compassion and purpose, motivated by God’s love to give hope to the world. Jimmy was known to say, “It takes a lot of love to live” and the winners of this essay contest follow his example of impacting their communities for Christ.

Please take time to read more about Jimmy’s life and legacy here.

2017 Winners

Congratulations to everyone to participated and a special round of applause for our 2017 winners! As a way of both honoring them and Jimmy’s life, we are posting all of the winning essays from this year’s contest. Jimmy had one life message: love. He loved Jesus Christ with abandon and let that love spill over into the lives of everyone he encountered. God calls each of us to be the hands and feet of Christ to the world around us.
