Where to Meet

The Four Day Class will meet at the Arizona State Capitol Executive Tower, 1700 W Washington Street, Phoenix.

The Arizona State Capitol Executive Tower is the 9-story building directly west of the Capitol Museum. We will meet in the Executive Conference Room on the 3rd floor. Please arrive no later than 12:30 pm on the Monday of your class. Please bring a sack lunch and drink each day (plastic utensils okay).

Security Clearance – All students will need to go through security each day upon entering the Executive Tower. Please allow up to 20 minutes to receive clearance.

The Political Communication Workshop will meet in the Executive Tower, 2nd floor Conference Room on Friday, February 10th, 2017 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Please arrive no later than 9:30 am in the Arizona State Capitol Executive Tower and a staff member will take you to your class room. Please bring a sack lunch and a drink or you may purchase a lunch from the Arizona Capitol Cafe.

The One Day Class will meet at the Arizona State Capitol in the House of Representatives Chamber on the Friday February 10 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Please review our dress code and arrive no later than 9:30 am. Please bring a sack lunch and a drink. What to Bring

To the Capitol:

– Your completed homework with your name on each page

– A bagged lunch/drink from home each day

– A bible, notebook and pen

– Please review our dress code before attending the class

What NOT to bring: 

– Any sort of knife or firearm

– Remember, we will be media-free during this week so plan on leaving your iPods, iPads, and laptops at home during the week. Cell phones must be turned off and kept in your backpack during class. Thank you!

Parking

Free parking for visitors to the Arizona Capitol Museum, Executive Tower and House of Representatives is available.  The parking lot entrance is on the north side on Adams (Adams is a one-way street going west).  Look for the entrance to the north visitor parking area before you get to *17th Avenue.  Additional free parking is available west of the Executive Tower in a parking lot along 19th Avenue between Adams and Jefferson streets.

Directions

From the North

Take Interstate 17 south to the Jefferson Street exit. Turn left (east) onto Jefferson street (it’s a one-way street) and drive approximately one-half mile to 19th Avenue and turn left (north), then right (east) onto Washington Street. Parking is available to the south.

From the South

Take Interstate 17 north to the 19th Avenue exit. Turn right (north) onto 19th Avenue and go approximately 1.25 miles to Washington Street and turn right (east) again, at which point you will see parking to your right.

From the West

Take Interstate 10 east to Interstate 17 south to the Jefferson Street exit. Turn left (east) onto Jefferson Street (it’s a one-way street) and drive approximately one-half mile to 19th Avenue and turn left (north), then right (east) onto Washington street. At this point, you will see parking to the right.

From the East

Take interstate 10 wast to the 19th Avenue exit. Turn left (south) onto 19th Avenue and go approximately one mile to Washington Street, then turn left (east) again. At this point you will see parking on the right.

Host homes may be available for out of town students. If you are in need of housing for the week, please contact Kim Ballam at arizona@teenpact.com or 480-694-7459 for more information. If you would like to bless another family by serving as a host home, please email arizona@teenpact.com.

Evening Sessions

Evening sessions are an integral part of the TeenPact experience, allowing students to combine the academic emphasis at the Capitol with a spiritual focus on students’ relationships with God and one another.  Evening sessions are offered at no additional cost.

We will meet Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm following class dismissal. We will meet at Bethany Bible Church, 6060 N 7th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85013 in the Activity Center.

Please make plans to join us, families are ALL welcome to attend. After class, students are welcome to change into TeenPact appropriate casual clothes. Join us at Bethany Bible Church for a potluck (we ask the parents to help provide food for the potluck) on Monday and Tuesday after class. Students will enjoy a time of eating dinner together, worshipping, being challenged by a message from the Class Director, possibly playing games, participating in small groups, and praying together.

Wednesday, please plan to join us for our Annual Pizza Party and Ultimate Frisbee Competition and fellowship time on the lawn in front of the Historic Arizona State Capitol! The cost is $5 per person and all family may also join us. The evening will include pizza, worship and time to play frisbee and fellowship from 3:30 – 6:00 pm, Please plan to pick-up your students at 6:00 pm in the parking lot by the memorials. We look forward to seeing you there!
