TeenPact trains young people to be leaders who will impact the nation and world for Jesus Christ. This is a comprehensive leadership experience that challenges students to grow both personally and spiritually. During the week, students will enjoy meeting and interacting with other Christian young people and leaders from across their state. Students will come away from TeenPact with a realization of their spiritual capacity as young people and a desire to change America for Christ.
Our Four Day core curriculum includes:
– Writing and debating bills in our TeenPact mock legislature
– Interviewing lobbyists
– Analyzing legislation
– Viewing the House & Senate chambers
– Exploring the state judicial system
– Learning how to pray for elected officials
– How a Bill Becomes a Law
– Learning how political campaigns work by running a mock election
– Meeting and hearing from people who work at the capitol
– Critical thinking
– Principles of Christian leadership
TEENPACT IS RELEVANT
In the context of their own state capitol, students not only learn about the basics of state government but also the spiritual capacity of young people. Even students who have no prior interest in government gain a biblical understanding of their responsibility as citizens: to vote and to pray effectively. A daily time of prayer and worship keeps the focus on Christ and we encourage students to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives. TeenPact’s goal is to instill the skills and passion necessary to impact the nation for Jesus Christ. This is a unique educational opportunity that is offered at your state capitol!
TEENPACT IS HANDS-ON
We believe that students learn best by doing. Our State Capitol Four Day Class is fast-paced and designed to give students the ultimate hands-on crash course in state government. Having a student learn to find their way around the capitol, know where to find bills and how to read them, study and enjoy parliamentary debate, run for a mock office during the week, and meet public officials all adds up to be an incredible experience.
TEENPACT IS ON-SITE
By spending four days at the capitol, TeenPact students get a glimpse of what goes on beyond the marble steps as they get the entire story from elected officials, lobbyists and capitol staff. While most groups only see the statues and paintings when they come to the capitol, we want our students to build relationships with the people who actually influence public policy.
