Where to Meet

The Alabama State Four Day Class will meet in the Auditorium of the Gordon Persons Building. The entrance to the building is on the corner of North Ripley Street and Pelham Street. Parking is available in the Crampton Bowl parking lot on North Hilliard Street (about a three block walk). Please plan to arrive at the office building between 12:15 pm and 12:45 pm on Monday.

The Alabama State One Day Class will also meet in the Auditorium of the Gordon Persons Building. The entrance to the building is on the corner of North Ripley Street and Pelham Street. Parking is available in the Crampton Bowl parking lot on North Hilliard Street (about a three block walk). Please plan to arrive at the office building between 8:30 am and 8:45 am on Friday.

The Political Communication Workshop location will be announced at a later date.  Please plan to arrive between 8:30 am and 8:45 am on Friday.

What to Bring

To the Camp:

- Pillow, towel, sheets & blanket or sleeping bag
- Comfortable clothes (see TeenPact dress code)
- Board and/or card games to share
- Snack(s) to share

To the Capitol:

- Your completed homework with your name on each page
- $18 for lunch for three days; lunch for the public speaking class will be on your own
- A Bible, notebook and pen
- Please review our dress code before attending the class

What NOT to Bring:

- Any sort of knife or firearm
- CD players, iPods or any form thereof

Parking & Directions

FOR ALL CLASSES:

From the South (Mobile):

Take I-65 North into Montgomery. Take Exit 171 to merge onto I-85 North toward Atlanta. Take Exit 1 for Court Street. Continue on Arba Street / East South Street. Turn left on Union Street. Turn right on Adams Avenue. Go two blocks and turn left onto North Jackson Street. Turn right onto Pelham Street and go one block to the Crampton Bowl parking lot.

From the East (Auburn):

Take I-85 South into Montgomery. Take Exit 1 for Union Street. Turn right on Union Street. Turn right on Adams Avenue. Go two blocks and turn left onto North Jackson Street. Turn right onto Pelham Street and go one block to the Crampton Bowl parking lot.

From the Southeast (Dothan):

Take US 231 towards Montgomery. Turn right onto Taylor Road. Take I-85 South into Montgomery. Take Exit 1 for Union Street. Turn right on Union Street. Turn right on Adams Avenue. Go two blocks and turn left onto North Jackson Street. Turn right onto Pelham Street and go one block to the Crampton Bowl parking lot.

From the North (Birmingham):

Take I-65 South into Montgomery. Take exit 172 for Clay Street. Turn left at Herron Street. Herron Street turns slightly left and becomes Bibb Street which becomes Madison Avenue. Turn right onto North Hilliard Street. Go about one block and the Crampton Bowl parking lot will be to your left.

Note: The City of Montgomery has changed some intersections downtown into traffic circles. Vehicles in the circles have the right-of-way. Enter into the circle by bearing right, yielding to vehicles in the circle.

Parking and Luggage:

The Crampton Bowl parking lot is a free lot. There will be a truck / trailer to transport the luggage to Camp Chandler located in the parking lot on Monday afternoon. Please transfer your luggage to the trailer before you come to the Gordon Persons Building. No luggage should be brought to the class. The Gordon Persons Building is two blocks west from the parking lot. Cross North Hilliard Street to the south end of the parking lot and walk the two blocks on Pelham Street. The entrance is at the front side of the building. As you enter the building, the cafeteria is to the right and the auditorium is to the left.

Housing Information

Students are invited to stay with the staff at Camp Chandler during their week at TeenPact. The time at the camp will include afternoon recreation and evening sessions with worship, teaching, and games.

Lodging, transportation, breakfasts and dinners are included in the price of the residential camp fee of $130 for 3-nights or $170 for 4-nights. For the commuting students who would like to join us for dinner at Camp Chandler and participate in the evening events, dinner is $7.00.

Parents are needed to serve as chaperones and to transport students. If you are interested, please contact Deborah Monplaisir.

Luggage can be dropped off and picked up at the Crampton Bowl parking lot. Please do not bring any luggage to the Gordon Persons Building.
