Inside the Mission
In his letter below, CEO Peter Martin provides some highlights from this year’s State Class Season. First, hear from Four Day Class students themselves of the impact on their lives.
At the end of each Four Day State Class, teen students share how their TeenPact experiences have impacted their lives.
- “I had a great experience, one that will carry on throughout my life.”
- “It is the greatest event I have ever attended! Y’all are great!”
- “I really grew this year at my State Class. I pushed myself to run for Senator and made it through the primary, which was really cool. The worship was so GOOD! All of the evening sessions were amazing. I loved Prayer Walks so much–I could really feel God’s presence–it was so powerful! The Staffers were amazing! I made good friends. I’m so thankful God gave me the opportunity to learn, serve, and grow at TeenPact this year!”
Some graduates shared that their faith in Christ was particularly impacted.
- “The TeenPact State Class helped me to realize how easy it is for a young person to make a difference in our state, and how I can be more involved!”
- “It’s helped me set priorities in my faith and education. I was struggling with peer pressure and seriously lacking faith. This helped me get back on track.”
- “My TeenPact experience was a good wake up call to live more for Christ.”
- “It has shown me how to grow in my relationship with other believers. It has also given me some much-needed accountability.””The speakers were really awesome and made me realize some things about my life I need to hear – Do not let our fire for God burn out when we leave or aren’t surrounded by Christians. Also I LOVVVEEEE the worship. It’s almost more powerful because it’s nothing fancy and everyone is singing! I wish I could stay here forever!!!”
- “I have grown in my faith, socializing skills, and my understanding of the U.S. Government.”
- “The Christian faith instills every activity in a beautiful and God-glorifying way. Everything is so fun and full of laughter!”
- “I feel like the past week has made such a big difference in my fellowship with fellow Christians my age.”
- “It was very encouraging to worship and grow in Christ together.”
- “I renewed my relationship with Christ. Hearing the speakers was motivational and educational.”
Other students explained how they grew in leadership skills, character, and confidence.
- “I feel more confident and comfortable in leadership.”
- “I’ve learned how to step up as a leader, pray for others, and meet others’ needs before my own.”
- “I saw improvement in my speaking skills.”
- “This week, I specifically went out of my comfort zone [by running for] Senator and let God lead and guide me in what happened next. It has taught me to try. Just try and get out of my comfort zone, I’ll never know what God will bless me with if I don’t try, and take the first step.”
- “I learned invaluable experiences about leadership!”
- “I’ve gotten more comfortable with getting to know new people without feeling like a bother to them, and I’ve grown stronger in my personal, religious, and political views.”
- “[Attending the TeenPact State Class] made me more confident.”
- “This experience helped me grow as a leader.”
- “After losing the election, I learned to accept God’s plan and to be a good sport.”
- “[The staffers modeled how] to talk to other people, and I learned how to enjoy myself with new people I meet.”
- “I stepped wayyyyy out of my comfort zone and got to experience many more things because of that.”
Teens expressed how their understanding of the government grew.
- “I gained a greater appreciation of the process for passing laws.”
- “I learned so much more about my government, the role that it plays, and how I can participate.”
- “I always look forward to TeenPact. I love how I can get educated on our government in a way I understand and interact with. I also love the amazing Christian influence at TeenPact.”
- “I’ve met so many new people, learned so much about government, and strengthened my relationship with the Lord.”
- “It has shown me that I could have a place in our government and taught me how to put God into what I do.”
- “I appreciate the American government more now.”
- “It has given me a greater understanding of how the government works.”
- “This week has helped me understand how free we are as homeschoolers and American citizens.”
- “I learned a lot because of how engaging and interactive it was. Keep up the good work!”
- “It’s an experience that is very hard to describe in words, but I definitely learned a lot about being a leader. I also connected with lots of new people and made new friends. I’m so excited for next year!”
Greetings, TeenPact Supporters!
It has been a spectacular season with many amazing opportunities to fulfill TeenPact’s vision of changing lives to change the world.
I’m excited to share these highlights from the 2023 State Class season:
- More than 6,475 Total Students attended, nearly 1000 more than last year!
- 63 State Classes were held with students from all 50 states
- 14,944 quizzes were given and graded
- 15 State governors met with TeenPact students
- 252 Prayer Walks occurred in State Capitols, fulfilling Paul’s command to Timothy to pray for those in authority
But the most important number to share is that we serve ONE and only one God – the LORD, our Lord! What a blessing this year has been.
None of this would have happened without hundreds of people committing countless hours, and to each who has given financially to make this mission possible. I am so grateful for your service and stewardship of your resources to TeenPact.
These words come to mind frequently as I pray for TeenPact:
I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers, because I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints, and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ. For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you. Philemon 1:4-7 (ESV)
Your prayers are so appreciated. All employees pray together on Wednesday at 2:00 Eastern Time. Would you join us as we pray for continued discipleship impact through TeenPact as God directs?
With gratitude and blessings,
Peter Martin
