Joseph was born and raised in the bustling city of Durham, North Carolina, in what is known as the Research Triangle area, home to the greatest college basketball rivalry ever. Joseph has five younger siblings, four brothers and one sister, Lydia, who is his best friend. They grew up playing every sport imaginable in the backyard, singing worship songs at the piano, and watching old movies.
Joseph loves writing songs, thrifting with friends, reading classic literature, discovering new restaurants, and doing anything with his sister. Joseph hopes to work in diplomacy and, Lord willing, one day be a US ambassador. Next fall, he will attend the University of Virginia to pursue a degree in public policy and political science.
In 2022, Joseph attended his first state class in North Carolina and immediately loved everything about the program. He was struck by the community of teens holding themselves to a higher standard and walking in excellence unto the Lord. This left an impact on him and motivated him to be passionate about seeing Christ exalted to the nations. Joseph is grateful and eager for this opportunity to serve Christ’s Kingdom and he is particularly excited for the opportunity to pour into and encourage young men in the faith.
