Former President & CEO

Peter Martin

Peter Martin grew up in Minnesota before moving to California for college, where he met the sunshine of his life—Lydia. Early in their marriage, Peter worked as a group underwriter for a health insurance company, leading the Martins from California to Minnesota and eventually to Connecticut. It was at the inaugural TeenPact Connecticut State Class in 2004, when their oldest children attended, that the Martin family first fell in love with TeenPact.

Since then, TeenPact has been woven deeply into their family’s story. The Martin kids have participated as students, staffers, Traveling Interns, and even employees. Peter went on to serve as the President & CEO of TeenPact, and during that season, the Martins’ home in Richmond, Virginia, became a welcoming home-away-from-home for hundreds of TeenPact staff, Traveling Interns, and volunteers. Having transitioned out of the CEO role in 2023, Peter remains deeply invested in TeenPact’s mission, continuing to serve faithfully as a Class Director. Amid the steady flow of visitors, he and Lydia love hosting their eight children, sons and daughters-in-law, and many grandchildren—future TeenPacters in the making. In this new season, they also enjoy traveling the world together and visiting family and friends across the country. A firm believer that “not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers,” Peter can often be found with a book and a cup of coffee in hand whenever he has a quiet moment.
