Equipped for Influence: Young Women Reflect on Their Journey at Endeavor

This September, Endeavor 2024 brought together 65 young women from across the nation for an incredible week of spiritual growth, practical training, and deepened friendships. Hosted at Ada Lodge in Davis, Oklahoma, Endeavor proved to be an experience that not only provided useful skills for everyday life, but also transformed hearts and minds toward Christ.

A Personal Encounter with Christ

For many attendees, this week was more than just learning new skills—it was about experiencing the love of Jesus in a fresh way. One attendee shared, “I have experienced the love of Jesus so powerfully this week through the teaching and everyone involved.” Another young woman echoed this, saying, “This week has really impacted my life in so many ways. I feel like I have gotten closer to the Lord.”

The theme of Jesus’ love and peace was woven throughout the sessions and resonated deeply with the participants. A young woman reflected, “The theme of peace was so impactful, and the people were so genuine and encouraging. I feel more equipped to go home and serve the Lord in new ways that are so helpful for my life and walk with Christ.”

Practical Skills and Spiritual Breakthroughs

Endeavor is known for its balance of hands-on training and spiritual teaching, and this year was no exception. Attendees were able to participate in a variety of breakout sessions, from culinary arts to hiking, plus how to study the Bible. One attendee remarked, “I’ve learned so many practical skills this week, and it’s given me confidence in the Lord for my future.” Another shared how the event had helped her overcome spiritual challenges, saying, “I was able to see that we have power over the enemy through the Lord, and that was an amazing breakthrough for me!”

The program’s structure allows for both learning and reflection, offering participants the chance to grow closer to God, while gaining valuable life skills. One student summed up the experience: “This week has changed my life. I’ve grown so much in Christ and learned so much in a short amount of time. I also had so much fun and made friends I know I’ll have for life!”

Building Lifelong Friendships

Friendship was a cornerstone of the Endeavor experience, with many attendees leaving with newfound connections. “I made so many amazing relationships this week,” one participant shared. “I’ve been revived and encouraged, and I feel like I now have the tools to stay focused on the Lord and what He wants for my life.”

The week’s setting fostered an environment of genuine community, where students, interns, and leaders could connect on a deep level. Another attendee expressed her gratitude, saying, “I’ve grown so much closer to the Lord, and I am inspired to pour into the younger girls where I live.” This sense of mentorship and support was felt by many, who left Endeavor feeling ready to carry what they had learned back to their homes and communities.

An Event That Equips and Inspires

Led by an all-star team of TeenPact women, including Program Director Evie Erickson and Event Director Cindy Cocks, and the female 2025 interns, Endeavor offered not only spiritual refreshment but also practical wisdom for navigating everyday life. “The Lord used Cindy Cocks in a powerful way to impact these young women. So many girls expressed that they were walking away changed,” shared Erickson.

Endeavor was designed to equip young women to live as ambassadors for Christ in all areas of their lives. Through hands-on sessions and heartfelt teaching, the young women learned what it means to be a godly woman in a world that often pulls them in the opposite direction. “It has given me so many skills, both physical and spiritual, to use in the real world to combat the enemy’s attacks on my mind,” one participant said.

Connection Through Hospitality

The Endeavor experience was enriched not only by the inspiring discussions and activities but also by the hospitality and fellowship around the table. Sussie Sharp, TeenPact Kansas State Coordinator, and her daughter Jessie Sharp, a former Traveling Intern, planned and prepared excellent meals for the entire group. The meals provided more than just nourishment—they created moments for deeper connection and conversation.

One attendee shared, “The meals were such a blessing! Sitting around the table with everyone after a full day of learning was such a special time to reflect and grow together in community.”

A Legacy of Encouragement

For many, the week at Endeavor was not just an event, but a life-changing experience. “This has been one of the best camps I’ve ever been to. I feel seen, heard, and loved,” shared a young woman who had found not only friendship but also a deeper relationship with God.

With the guidance of leaders like Staff Development Coordinator Dara Weisbrod and Field Director Lori Gaines, the girls were given opportunities to grow both in their walk with Christ and in practical skills they can use in their everyday lives. Chaperones like Danielle May, who played a crucial role in supporting the young women, saw firsthand how this event sparked lasting change. One attendee said, “I have been reminded countless times this week of peace, thanksgiving, praising, and rejoicing. I’m infinitely grateful to be going home with a newfound passion for glorifying the Lord.”

Looking Forward

As the young women left Ada Lodge, they carried with them more than just memories—they took home a deeper relationship with the Lord, new friendships, and the skills to live out their faith in everyday life. One participant summed it up perfectly: “This week has given me so many valuable skills for both my spiritual walk and my social interactions. Endeavor has given me experiences and lessons that I will treasure and use for the rest of my life.”

For these young women, Endeavor 2024 will be remembered as a week where their lives were transformed, friendships were forged, and God’s love and peace was made real.
