It was electrifying. I felt such an energy and passion for Christ while standing in the midst of hundreds of other believers at National Convention. It was absolutely electrifying. It was as though we were in the throne room, bowing in worship at the feet of King Jesus.

National Convention is over now and everyone has returned home. It’s harder to keep that fire burning now, isn’t it? Standing united with hundreds of people and standing alone in your faith are very different situations. Fortunately, there is one thing that isn’t different, one who will never change, our Jesus.

At National Convention, I ran with the message of Timeless Love. I talked about how Jesus loves us no matter what we have done, how far from His grace we have strayed, or how spiritually rank we may feel. We just have to open our hearts to Him and invite Him to take full control of our lives. This summer, I have been reminded that His love is not only timeless, but it is incredibly powerful! Job chapters 38-41 showcase a message from God that highlights his creativity, control, and power over all of creation! These chapters include descriptions of leashing lightning, giving orders to the morning, and harnessing the strength of Leviathan and Behemoth!

This summer, I have been reminded that God’s love is not only timeless, but it is incredibly powerful!

Coming home from a “mountain top” experience like National Convention generally begins as a war cry for Jesus echoed by friends around the nation. As time goes by, however, the stress of our daily lives threatens to dim that flame of passion and quiet that cry until it becomes more of a whisper, weak and alone. It doesn’t have to be this way! In a description of a horse in Job 39:22, the Lord says, “He laughs at fear and is not dismayed; he does not turn back from the sword.” If God gives a horse that much of his power, then think of what He gives us, His children!

Life can be hard. I’m currently in a season where I am making college decisions, and it seems like every second today will have a dramatic effect on my future. These weighty decisions can zap the strength right out of us. But God doesn’t mean for us to carry our burdens alone. Christ is standing by with his power, ready to fill us if we just ask. Mark 11:23 says, “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

God doesn’t mean for us to carry our burdens alone. Christ is standing by with his power, ready to fill us if we just ask.

After Jesus returned to heaven, He blessed us with the unthinkable — He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts! We have that NatCon-like fire eternally burning in us! It’s like the song that says, “there is power in the name of Jesus.” What do we need to do? We need to call upon His powerful name!

Life can be incredibly difficult and decisions can be confusing, but our God is greater. In my small group at National Convention, (shout out to Spain!) we discussed how Christians tend to say that we don’t know the end of the story and we just have to have faith. While we agreed that we should always have faith, we also realized that we do know the end of the story! John’s Revelation tells us that although things will look pretty grim for a while, in the end, our God is victorious!

So, let’s not become preoccupied with our weakness; instead, let’s celebrate the power of our God! Today, I challenge you to join me. Don’t wait to recover your own strength. Instead, abide in our Savior’s power, freely given, ready to follow Him into eternity.
