Through dynamic experiences, TeenPact seeks to inspire youth in their relationship with Christ and train them to understand the political process, value their liberty, defend the Christian faith, and engage the culture around them. “Changing lives to change the world” is more than a vision statement to us. It’s what we do every day.
At TeenPact, we believe students learn best by doing. That’s why our State Classes are comprised of focused hands-on leadership training. With classes offered across the nation and for students ages 8-19, young people will quickly discover how to embrace their call as the next generation of leaders through the unique tools, teaching, and opportunities TeenPact provides.
Our Alumni Events take students deeper in their relationship with Christ as they build lasting community and grow through intentional leadership training. While events activities range from meeting legislators on Capitol Hill to team building in South Dakota, the focus is the same – training students to be influential and servant-hearted leaders.
You have just recently finished your first or maybe second State Class. You’re now officially a TeenPact alumnus. Summer is near and you’re trying to decide how to spend your time, money, and resources. With so many options in front of you, it can be nearly impossible to make a decision! I approached one of our 2016 traveling interns about what he recommends. He simply said, “I can help you with that.”
Luke Martin (VA) will be serving as the Program Director this year for TeenPact Judicial. Hosted at the beautiful campus of Liberty University School of Law, TeenPact Judicial students experience a full-immersion week of law school. Pre-event study prepares you to jump into a one-of-a-kind intellectual experience wherein you benefit from the Law School professors’ interactive lectures on topics including “Introduction to Legal Reasoning” and “Foundations of Law.”
Working alongside a small brief-writing team, you are empowered to draft a legal case and present oral arguments. The highlight of the event is undoubtedly the two-day Moot Court Tournament where you have the opportunity to argue against opposing counsel (your fellow students) and before a panel of judges. The final round is argued in the only replica of the U.S. Supreme Court room in the United States. Wow!
Beyond these thrilling academic opportunities, Judicial students enjoy all the distinctive elements of a TeenPact event including morning worship and devotionals, intentional small-group time, afternoon free-time with Ultimate Frisbee, and inspiring evening sessions.
“As a former student, staffer, and this year’s TeenPact Judicial Program Director, I would love for you to join us and experience this incredible event for yourself. I hope you will prayerfully consider the opportunity to attend this event in order to deepen your relationship with Christ and continue developing the skills of an effective servant leader.” — Luke Martin, TeenPact Study Body President
