Through dynamic experiences, TeenPact seeks to inspire youth in their relationship with Christ and train them to understand the political process, value their liberty, defend the Christian faith, and engage the culture around them. “Changing lives to change the world” is more than a vision statement to us. It’s what we do every day.
At TeenPact, we believe students learn best by doing. That’s why our State Classes are comprised of focused hands-on leadership training. With classes offered across the nation and for students ages 8-19, young people will quickly discover how to embrace their call as the next generation of leaders through the unique tools, teaching, and opportunities TeenPact provides.
Our Alumni Events take students deeper in their relationship with Christ as they build lasting community and grow through intentional leadership training. While events activities range from meeting legislators on Capitol Hill to team building in South Dakota, the focus is the same – training students to be influential and servant-hearted leaders.
The One Day State Class is an action-packed day full of exciting experiences that introduce students to their state government using a dynamic, hands-on approach. For students ages 8-12.
At the One Day Class, we like to start our day with a time of worship. The heart of TeenPact is larger than just government, and we seek to start every day with the right focus. As students learn throughout the day, the important thing is that they view government from the perspective of a follower of Christ and how God is best glorified in our actions within the political atmosphere. Additionally, students will go on a Prayer Walk around the Capitol where they will have the opportunity to pray for the leaders of their state and the decisions they make. They will learn how a bill becomes a law, and a time of mock legislature where students will have the chance to discuss the bills they wrote prior to the class. We hold a class election where students are able to run campaigns in various capacities in order to see what the behind-the-scenes looks like when a candidate runs for office. Each element of the One Day Class is taught in an interactive way to help the students visualize and better understand how the government works in their state.
We believe that young people (no matter their age) should be given the opportunity to learn about, understand, and have a voice in their government; the One Day Class does just that. Taught by a caring staff team, this class is designed for parents and students to attend together, with no extra charge for the parent. The enthusiastic and encouraging atmosphere will make this a class that you won’t forget!
