Read PostThrough dynamic experiences, TeenPact seeks to inspire youth in their relationship with Christ and train them to understand the political process, value their liberty, defend the Christian faith, and engage the culture around them. “Changing lives to change the world” is more than a vision statement to us. It’s what we do every day.
At TeenPact, we believe students learn best by doing. That’s why our State Classes are comprised of focused hands-on leadership training. With classes offered across the nation and for students ages 8-19, young people will quickly discover how to embrace their call as the next generation of leaders through the unique tools, teaching, and opportunities TeenPact provides.
Our Alumni Events take students deeper in their relationship with Christ as they build lasting community and grow through intentional leadership training. While events activities range from meeting legislators on Capitol Hill to team building in South Dakota, the focus is the same – training students to be influential and servant-hearted leaders.
Good afternoon TeenPact Nation! John Seldenrust here.
The TeenPact Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Chris May, a TeenPact Dad and passionate follower of Christ, will be the next President & CEO of TeenPact!
As an opening introduction: here are a few things to know about Chris and his wife, Danielle:
And please know Chris feels humbled and excited to join TeenPact, as expressed here in his own words:“God has used TeenPact to impact our family in amazing ways. TeenPact has challenged our kids to own their faith and has provided them with the confidence to lead and the courage to engage the culture. We have met so many outstanding families through TeenPact who have a similar heartbeat. Helping to steward the TeenPact ministry is a dream come true and an answer to many prayers. I thank Tim Echols, Peter Martin, and everyone else who has gone before us and made many sacrifices to make this ministry possible.”
An executive recruiter who specializes in working with Christian nonprofits and assisted us in our process is very supportive of Chris’ appointment and even commented that few large ministries find candidates of the ministry fit and capability of Chris, even after conducting a nationwide search!
Peter Martin has also been involved in the search process and states:
“I have had the pleasure of getting to know Chris and his family over the last couple years at various TeenPact events and Board meetings. Having spent some concentrated time with Chris and his wife, Danielle, I am very excited to see how God uses them to serve the TeenPact Nation in the future. After our first lengthy meeting, I called my wife, Lydia, and told her I felt that I had just spent time with myself fifteen years ago. Chris is ordained by God to lead TeenPact in the future and to continue the vision of Changing Lives to Change the World!”
As a ministry, we have been so very blessed to have had exceptional leaders in Tim Echols as the founder of TeenPact, then Peter Martin as President & CEO for the past 13 years, and we are confident that Chris May will continue in this tradition of exceptional leadership.
Upon handoff of day-to-day operations to Chris, Peter will then continue to remain with TeenPact through his retirement date of July 1, 2024 and will be assisting Chris and participating in TeenPact events. We anticipate a very smooth transition given the time Peter has graciously given TeenPact to plan and execute well. We are early in the planning stages, but for those of you that will be attending National Convention this year, you’ll have an opportunity to get to know Chris a bit as he will be in attendance and we will be sure to include an introduction of Chris during one of the sessions.
There will be much more information to come as 2023 unfolds, but in the meantime, please be praying for Chris and his family as they sell a home in Texas and move to Richmond and for Peter and Lydia as they continue to lead TeenPact.
And finally, as you have the opportunity, please join in welcoming Chris and Danielle to TeenPact!!
In Christ,
John Seldenrust
Chairman of the TeenPact Board
