Read PostThrough dynamic experiences, TeenPact seeks to inspire youth in their relationship with Christ and train them to understand the political process, value their liberty, defend the Christian faith, and engage the culture around them. “Changing lives to change the world” is more than a vision statement to us. It’s what we do every day.
At TeenPact, we believe students learn best by doing. That’s why our State Classes are comprised of focused hands-on leadership training. With classes offered across the nation and for students ages 8-19, young people will quickly discover how to embrace their call as the next generation of leaders through the unique tools, teaching, and opportunities TeenPact provides.
Our Alumni Events take students deeper in their relationship with Christ as they build lasting community and grow through intentional leadership training. While events activities range from meeting legislators on Capitol Hill to team building in South Dakota, the focus is the same – training students to be influential and servant-hearted leaders.
Happy New Year!
January 2019 is upon us, and at TeenPact that means we become laser focused on Intern Training, Staff Training, and the 2019 State Class season.
One key focus of the TeenPact ministry is on the concept of teamwork. Teamwork is not simply a concept that is used to build sports teams – working together to beat the competition. I have been on sports teams in the past where the individuals were striving for their personal goals, their personal best. That led to many losses. I have also been on sports teams and watched sports teams through the years without a superstar that have repeatedly outperformed the competition and have been extremely successful. They were successful because they worked together for a common goal, striving for a common purpose.
For over 30 years I have been a member of an amazing team of individuals – no one a superstar, but each one working together for the good of the entire group. We have lived together, loved together, cried together, and laughed together more than I can ever describe or image. This community has been together through several moves, job changes and challenges, births, deaths, marriages, and much more. On Christmas Day, my family was together for only eighteen hours, but it was a long enough time to put on our team shirts and enjoy celebrating the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As many of you know, this year TeenPact will celebrate our 25th anniversary. There will be many opportunities throughout the year to put on a TeenPact shirt and become part of the team as we celebrate the vision and mission in 45 states, at 2019 National Convention, and at Alumni Events later in the summer and fall.
Today I am calling you to join a team that will pray for TeenPact each day this season. I am asking you to commit to pray for the National Office employees, the 2019 Program Directors and Interns, the State Coordinators, the Class Directors, the Staff Teams, the chaperones, and other volunteers that help conduct these events, and over 5000 students attending our Four Day and One Day State Classes starting on January 28. We need you on this team. As James tells us, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16)
Would you like to be a part of this prayer team and receive my weekly prayer email each Sunday evening? Whether you join this team or not, I am continually grateful for your prayer and ongoing support of TeenPact Leadership Schools.
Keep seeking.
