Read PostThrough dynamic experiences, TeenPact seeks to inspire youth in their relationship with Christ and train them to understand the political process, value their liberty, defend the Christian faith, and engage the culture around them. “Changing lives to change the world” is more than a vision statement to us. It’s what we do every day.
At TeenPact, we believe students learn best by doing. That’s why our State Classes are comprised of focused hands-on leadership training. With classes offered across the nation and for students ages 8-19, young people will quickly discover how to embrace their call as the next generation of leaders through the unique tools, teaching, and opportunities TeenPact provides.
Our Alumni Events take students deeper in their relationship with Christ as they build lasting community and grow through intentional leadership training. While events activities range from meeting legislators on Capitol Hill to team building in South Dakota, the focus is the same – training students to be influential and servant-hearted leaders.
Can you believe that the 2017 Season begins today?
At last year’s National Convention we began interviewing hundreds of students who applied to staff our 2017 State Classes. A number of last year’s staffers were accepted to serve as Traveling Interns. Four of last year’s Intern Guys have stepped up to be Program Directors.
Ever since last summer we have been praying, planning, and preparing for this day. We ordered T-shirts. We procured camp contracts. We had the largest Staff Training event ever. We said goodbye to several long-standing employees and welcomed several more to our team.
And we did so much more. And where are we now? Today we begin classes in Wyoming and New Mexico, preparing for the greatest season ever! Through all of this, God has shown Himself faithful as we have been obedient to His call in carrying out the vision and mission of TeenPact Leadership Schools. Let us not forget to praise Him!
Consider the opportunity for influence that we have been given:
Ten years ago, a young man named Fuzz Thomson staffed the Connecticut staff and stayed in our home. It was there he met my son, Noah. Fuzz likely stayed in Noah’s room that week. This past Saturday night, Noah stayed at the Thomson’s home, having driven the van from Texas to New Mexico. Did he stay in Fuzz’s old room? Perhaps. Today Noah is serving as a Traveling Intern at the TeenPact New Mexico class.
This “circle of influence” continues. In 2009 I had the opportunity to Class Direct the Wyoming class. My son Adam was the Intern Guy and Josh Cockroft of Oklahoma was the Program Director. Today, Luke program directs the Wyoming Class. Again, the influence continues.
Yes, TeenPact has had a significant impact on my family, and I hope the same can be said for yours. Thank you for joining us this season. God is using us to make an impact on the lives of students and even families – an impact for generations!
