2019 TeenPact Intern

Tripp Glisson

Tripp Glisson grew up overseas as a missionary kid in the small, dusty town of Mbarara, Uganda, East Africa. After many years of building relationships, overseeing micro-loans for villagers starting small businesses, and gathering stories, the Glisson family headed back to the states. They now call Tuscaloosa, Alabama—an exuberant college town where winning is a tradition (Roll Tide!)—home. Cheerful and energetic like his hometown, Tripp is a big fan of his parents, four brothers, four sisters, and two foster siblings.

Tripp’s TeenPact story began after his parents heard the rave reviews of his older brother and signed him up for a Four Day Class in 2015. Skeptical about how a week of government could have such a draw, he was completely sold on TeenPact by the second day of class. While he enjoyed the government studies aspect of the state class, the relationships he formed with other students were his favorite part of the class. The week proved to be life changing as Tripp recognized he had been passively approaching his walk with Christ and determined to live a life worthy of His calling. He is thankful for the fellowship and community shown at events which have pushed and encouraged him to invest in his communities back home. Tripp is thrilled to have the opportunity to pour into and invest in students across the nation as he serves as a 2019 TeenPact Intern. He can’t wait to meet them, get to know them on a personal level, and just share the love of Christ with them.

With a smile always at the ready and a love for laughter, Tripp is an easy going, thoughtful friend who is always ready for fun. An avid sports enthusiast (playing or watching), he has tried football, swimming, diving, and even gymnastics before finding his true favorite – basketball. After playing competitively for five years, he’s decided there’s just nothing quite as sweet as bouncing a ball on hardwood. If you’re passing through Tuscaloosa, be sure to stop by Panera Bread where Tripp uses his ever-present optimism as Associate Trainer to encourage those around. When he has spare-time, Tripp likes to decompress over a woodworking project in his shop. He may not always know what the end product will be, but he sure enjoys the process. When not at a TeenPact event, you can find Tripp enjoying one of the many things that make him happiest – sweet tea, Saturday’s in the south, cooking, summer nights, his well-loved Chacos, Sour Patch Kids, and Chipotle.
