Through dynamic experiences, TeenPact seeks to inspire youth in their relationship with Christ and train them to understand the political process, value their liberty, defend the Christian faith, and engage the culture around them. “Changing lives to change the world” is more than a vision statement to us. It’s what we do every day.
At TeenPact, we believe students learn best by doing. That’s why our State Classes are comprised of focused hands-on leadership training. With classes offered across the nation and for students ages 8-19, young people will quickly discover how to embrace their call as the next generation of leaders through the unique tools, teaching, and opportunities TeenPact provides.
Our Alumni Events take students deeper in their relationship with Christ as they build lasting community and grow through intentional leadership training. While events activities range from meeting legislators on Capitol Hill to team building in South Dakota, the focus is the same – training students to be influential and servant-hearted leaders.
On February 1, 2015 we revamped the TeenPact Leadership Schools website and introduced one exciting new feature, the TeenPact blog. Since that time we have had 100 blog posts, hearing from National Office employees, Class Directors, TeenPact Presidents and other elected officials, and most importantly, TeenPact students! I have enjoyed hearing stories of how God has used the TeenPact nation to fulfill the vision of changing lives to change the world.
Quinton Cools and Serena Walker are the individuals in the office that have spent the most time writing, scheduling guest writers, and preparing blog posts. We have received hundreds of positive comments about this element of our ministry and know that the information has been shared with many others. I hope that Serena’s look back at our favorite posts below will continue to encourage you and give excitement for the seasons ahead! – Peter Martin, President
It is difficult to believe that we have made it through 100 posts on the TeenPact blog. When Quinton and I started this project, we didn’t know what to expect, but only hoped that we would be able to produce quality writing that would describe this ministry that we love well, all while being an encouragement to the TeenPact nation. God has been kind to bless these efforts! As you might imagine, our most viewed posts are ones about our students stepping up as leaders. This can be seen in our posts announcing intern teams, posts about recently elected officials from National Convention, and alumni stories of former students who have gone on to great things.
Some of the most powerful posts we share are student testimonies, in which State Class or Alumni Event attendees pour their hearts out as they describe how God met them during their week away from home, inspired their hearts, and changed their lives.
Over the past year and a half, we have posted multiple pieces about TeenPact ideology and core values, integral program elements, and inside looks at the Alumni Events held around the country. These purposed to not only describe TeenPact families new to the program, but to also refocus our attention on gospel-centered discipleship as the building block in everything that we do.
And, in all of the in-between time, we love to share fun tidbits about lesser-known elements of TeenPact, holiday encouragements, or posts that allow you to get to know our National Office a bit better.
With that, take a step back with us as Quinton and I remember our top-20 favorite posts in the past 100! (In no particular order.)
As always, we’d love to hear from you! If you have a story to share, or a topic that you would like to see on the TeenPact blog, say so in the comments below or shoot us an email at [email protected]. Here’s to another 100 posts!
